On June 8th we hosted a visit at our headquarters in Terrassa by a group of students from the Microfusa audiovisual media school in Barcelona. Our engineers, David Martínez and Natàlia Milan, along with Vice-president and Chief Technical Officer Joan Amate, shared their experience in designing, developing and manufacturing advanced sound solutions with the students. They offered ideas, knowledge and guidance regarding product design and development processes, materials and components selection, acoustic testing, anechoic chamber measurement, and final system set-up before a performance.
Students were able to see how design concepts had been realised in the Joker series, evaluating several solutions in our showroom. They later toured our R&D and manufacturing facilities, including our 900 m³ anechoic chamber; among the most technically advanced in Europe.
Afterwards, they took part in an outdoor Xcellence series demo session, assisting in the preparation and set-up of the equipment; from positioning and installation of cabinets, to phase alignment and final configurations. The setup comprised 4 X208 line array systems matched with X218W3K subwoofers. This practical session was conducted by Paco Rodríguez, Product Application Engineer and Jordi Amate, Sales Area Manager.
These students will be go on to become next generation of AV professionals, behind the staging and production of events, ensuring professional standards of sound production, and creating mixing and editing all manner of audio and video media.
